KOMIŽA ON THE ISLAND OF VIS
Komiža
is situated in a big and peaceful bay in the south-west of island of Vis.
Touristic value of Komiža is on the increase for the last few years and the
tourists who have visited Komiža, even on a few days, have left with an unhidden
feeling of satisfaction.
Just
like all other small places on Dalmatian islands, Komiža has its special
characteristics: plenty of sunshine, extraordinary climate, first-class wines
and fresh and quality fish by the old fishing tradition.
In
front of the hotel lays a big pebbly beach and the line of green trees just next
to it.
That
gives a great comfort and pleasure in bathing and laying in the sun.
On a
small island of Biševo which is situated 6 nautic miles away from Komiža you can
find a phenomenon of the Adriatic sea, the famous
˝Blue cave". The sunlight enters through a hole, reflects itself and
fills the cave with a great spectrum of colors. ˝Blue cave˝ is visited by
thousands of tourists every year because it presents a special atraction and an
exeptional natural rarity.
Beside
these natural qualities, Komiža is known by the hospitality and good spirits of
its inhabitans (Komiža has a population of 1500). A guest is always welcome in
their homes and they are also always willing to take their guests fishing or for
a short excursion.
Away
from technology, cars, crowd and hurry, in Komiža tourists find sun, peace and
relaxation. |
